Best University Press Covers of 2019

As tough as it was to narrow down, I've somehow come up with my favorite University Press book covers from this year. A special note of gratitude to Eric Wilder and Spine Magazine for giving me the platform. Thank you all for supporting this round-up each and every month! Your enthusiasm and support mean the world.

I am so thrilled I got to begin this feature this year since I have long thought that University Press design was overlooked by design publications and design awards. As a University Press designer for many years (both in-house and freelance) I always felt there needed to be a dedicated coverage of all the great design happening out there beyond the annual AUP awards, so I'm honored that I got to create the space the UP-verse deserves.

On a personal note, when I was laid off and began my freelance business, all of my UP friends, clients, and colleagues rallied around to help support me, both with freelance projects to get me started and with encouragement and kindness. It made me realize how truly grateful I am to be part of such a dedicated and talented community of people.

Have a happy holiday and a happy new year! I look forward to seeing more great design work in 2020.
